Show The front page of the May issue of the Utah Taypayer displays an interesting collection of newspaper Headlines from city and county press throughout the state setting forth the activities of the Taypay-ers Taypay-ers Association up and down Utah, it is clear that the association is vigilant and is giving its attention to all proposed expenditures. Superintendents and boards of education are asked to study carefully care-fully the school budget law and to follow religiously ilts requirements, inasmuch as June Is the month in which the budget is to be presented present-ed and finally acted upon. Every taxing unit In the state is asked to analyze the budget and co-operate with the school officials In making mak-ing the budget fit In the pockets of the taxpayers. In arranging the budget the school boards are asked to use the following questions as a measuring measur-ing stick to determine the amount of money to be allotted: 1. What do we want our schools to do for us? 2. How much are we willing to pay for school services? 3. How many of these services logically belong to the schools? 4. Is our school giving us a fuU dollar's worth of service? 5. Is the expenditure of the school dollar made In such way as to add to the community's welfare? wel-fare? 6. Is the tax burden created by the schohols keeping pace with the ability of the people to assume it? Other interesting and timely articles ar-ticles appear in this issue. |
