The states wliich the proposed pro-posed regional marketing assoi'ia-jtion assoi'ia-jtion will include are: Utah, Colorado, Color-ado, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Ne-vada, Oregon, California, Washington Washing-ton and western Nebraska. These states are now producing the nigh-, est quality fowls in the country, it is understood. The value to the producers of an organization such as the one contemplated, con-templated, are found in its purposes. purpos-es. They were set forth at the meeting mentioned as follows: To stablize price and production, to obtain a more even marketing distribution dis-tribution of turkeys from this section, sec-tion, and to market them in an orderly, or-derly, scientific manner that wih insure the greatest returns. Other aims in view are to obtain a better quality product along with uniform grading and marketing under a common brand. Providing the suggested sug-gested organization is perfected, the moral and possibly the financial support of the Federal Farm Board, will be enlisted. A committee has been appointed to organize the turkey growers ol Utah and take definite steps preparatory pre-paratory to entering the regional association. The committee consists con-sists of A. DeMarr Dudley of Jensen, Jen-sen, chairman; S. R. . Bowesll of Richhfield, secretary; and the following fol-lowing members: Landwig Olson, Ephraim; K. E. Calderwood, Coalville; Coal-ville; B. 21. Mendenhall, Springville; Spring-ville; Albertus Willarason, Salt Lrke, and Byron Alder, Logan. The county agents are urged to organize county turkey associations and report the names of the various presidents and secretaries to Mr. Bcswell before June 10th. At a future date, tentatively set for June 10th, anieeting of county as-scciaion as-scciaion presidents will be held in Salt Lake to perfect the organiza-titn organiza-titn of the state association, and to select three delegates to repre-sen repre-sen Utah at ther egional meeting. This rgional meeting will be held June lifth, In Salt Lake City, to organize or-ganize the Northwest Turkey Growers Grow-ers Association. The suggested organization of the ccuntics in Utah into unit associations associa-tions is as fellows: Cache and Box-elricr Box-elricr counties, Summit, Rich and Morgan counties; Juab and Sanpete San-pete comities; Sevier, Piute, Wayne and Garfield counties; Beaver and Iron counties; Carbon and Emery counties, and single unit associations associa-tions in Salt Lake, Wasatch, Utah, I Millard, Washington, Uintah, Du-jchcsne, Du-jchcsne, Grand and San Juan counties. |
