Mrs. "Lewis Woodring of Garfield is a guest at the home of her parents, 'Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Johnson. Mrs. Nellie Norris will entertain the O. S. A. club at her home, Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon, May 23. The Home Culture club will meet 'with Mrs. H. F. Wall Wednesday aft-'ernoon, aft-'ernoon, May 2 3. Miss Josephine Hornung of Manti ;was a guest Saturday and Sunday of Mrs. O. F. Wall. Mr. and Mrs. Lou Hansen are receiving re-ceiving congratulations on the arrival arriv-al of a son at their home, Saturday, 'May 5. ,' After making a house-to-house 'canvas of the entire city a very enthusiastic en-thusiastic meeting attended by 200 house-wives was held Wednesday afternoon aft-ernoon by the Mount Pleasant rood Conservation Committee. The meeting meet-ing was presided over by the vice president of the committee, Mrs. Ab-ner Ab-ner Crane. The singing of "Anver-ica" "Anver-ica" opened the meeting after which Mayor Daniel Rasmussen spoke of the importance of food conservation i'.nd gave a report of the recent conference con-ference of mayors in Salt Lake. The Rev. R. B. Norton gave an interesting interest-ing talk on patriotism in relation to the nation and the home. Eight ladies led a discussion on the preservation pres-ervation and canning of meats, fowls, vegetables fnuits and eggs. Musical numbers were furnished by the South Ward Ladies Quartet. The committee commit-tee will secure the latest government bulletins bearing on these subjects and meetings will be held once a month at which experts will be present pres-ent to demonstrate the latest methods meth-ods in canning and preserving. |
