Show Dr. A. D. Carpenter Astronomer Lecturer In "Worlds in the Making" Dr. Arthur D. Carpenter, the noted astronomer, as-tronomer, takes a scientific subject which in the hands of some would be "dry as dust," and makes it sparkle and shine before a popular " audience until all, from the "tiniest tot" to the "oldest inhabitant," are fired with enthusiasm. This lecture traces astronomy from ancient times through the ages of astrology to the men of great scientific mind who have unfolded to the world a correct scientific conception con-ception of the Universe. Of immeasurable assistance to Dr. Carpenter and his audiences in conveying con-veying the great truths of his lecture, lec-ture, is his famous Mat lick Tellurian Machine which is a revolving miniature minia-ture of the universe. "Worlds in the Making" as illustrated on this machine, is without doubt, one of the most brilliant, interest edged, and inspirational lectures of Chautauqua Chau-tauqua week. V |
