Show To preserve Gladioli bulbs dig them now and cut the tops off. After being allowed to dry in the sun for about two hours, they can be placed in containers and stored ,n the cellar for the winter. Dahlia bulbs should also be dug now if they are to be preserved. pre-served. Stems should be cut off two inches above the root. A nail or other sharp nstrument should then be driven through the stems stub into the root. Bulbs should then be turned upside down and allowed to drain. If bulbs are not properly drained the juices cause decay. After the dahlia bulbs have been drained they should be placed plac-ed in dirt floored cellars and wrapped in oil paper, peat moss, or covered with dry sand. If they -ecome too dry during the winter they should be sprinkled with, water. |
