Show LAND-USE PLANNERS TO MEET DEC. 4th I.Jethods of coping with Utah's agricultural problem will be dis-sscu dis-sscu at a meeting of the state land-ube planning committee to e held a. the Utah State Agric-u.tmal Agric-u.tmal collere, Logan, on December De-cember 4, announces Dr. O. J. rthLa.iey, extension economist at tne college. This group, composed of farmers farm-ers and representatives of cooperating cooper-ating federal agricultural agencies, agen-cies, will consider the land-use planning work done in counties where such planning has been carried out extensively. These counties are: Box Elder, Cache, Duchesne, Uintah and Utah. From the findings of this consideration plans will be made for pushing ihe work farther. Land-use planning committees are formed to correlate the word of federal agencies to each community. com-munity. Realizing that a plan ot work cannot be devised to fit the needs of agriculture in the whole nation, or in many cases, a whole stale, these committees are provided pro-vided to give the farmers an opportunity op-portunity of voicing their opinions regarding the problems tney are confronted with. An opportunity is thus provided provid-ed for farmers to become acquainted ac-quainted with the objectives of each federal agency. To date the iand-use committee has directed its efforts at learning those objectives ob-jectives and laying plans for correlating cor-relating the work of each agency in the various countes of the state. At the December meeting agricultural agri-cultural problems in Utah that need attention will be considered and a plan for solving them determined. de-termined. Although the committee will meet prior to the state agricultural agricultur-al adult leaders training school, the members will be invited to stay over and work with these leaders during he school which will bo held December 5 to 14 nclusive Dr. Wheatley reported. |
