Show PAYSON LIONS ARE VICTORS OVER P.G. Pleasant Grove threat: nod on several occasions but could not launch a sustained drive in any period of the game. It's the long trip this wo kend for coach Jim Ditty and his Vikings. Vik-ings. On Friday they meet Union at Roosevelt for the second league game for each team. It will be losers against losers since Union was beaten by American Fork the same evening that Pleasant Grove lost to BY High. It should be a good game at Roosevelt. The Young Vikings are learning a lot of the tricks and are about due for a win. Other Friday games will sunri EY High to Lehi and Uintah to American Fork. In the opinion of this writer, the Wildcats and Utcs should win. Blast the pisky Cats. After losing games to the Orem Tigers, and BY High Wildcats, the Pay-son Pay-son Lions were all over the place last Wednesday. Aft;r the gun sounded ending the one-sidl melee, the Lions wer? on the long end of a 45-0 score. Payson, playing this year in Class A competition, has been rated as the team most expected to succeed in the Central Utah setup. And if the Lion-Viking hassel is any criterion, they should go all the way. Scoring touchdowns for the Lions in the September 30 game were Max Staheli, Pack Bryan, Jake Sorenson, Lynn Oborn and Paul Thomas. Two of the Payson scores were made with runs of 70 and 90 yards respectively in the practice tilt. |
