Show I XV : -A'-, !-:r- .-vv FFA WINNERS Representing Utah at the National FFA meet in Kansas City this year will be LeRoy Jacklin, Dan Adams, and Lee Jeppson. Boys won honor last spring at Utah convention. Three Local Boys to Compete In Contest A Meat Judging team from Pleasant Grove FFA, LeRoy Jacklin, Lee Jeppson and Dan Adams, will leave Saturday to compete in National FFA judging judg-ing at Kansas City Missouri. They won the honors by winning the state contest. At that time the team was made up of Dan, Lee and Eldon Jacklin. Eldon is now in the armed service at Fort Ord, and LeRoy Jacklin, his brother, will reiplaoe him on the team. The boys will make several stops going back to practice at various packing plants. They will travel by way of Omahar-Neb., and return through Denver, Colo. Each state will send their best FFA team to compete in. the contests. con-tests. This m'akes the fourth time in the history of the Pleasant Grove High School that they have won the state contest and gained the right to compete in the national. Last year a dairy products team, Lenn Anderson, Richard Draper and Mike Ferre traveled with Mr. and Mrs. Glade Hilton to Waterloo, Water-loo, Iowa where they received the highest national award. The meats 'Contest will be held in the Swift Co. packing plant at Kansas City, Missouri. In the State contest, Lee Jeppson Jepp-son placed first and Eldon second. sec-ond. Lee is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ovid Jeppson, Dan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kay Adams and LeRoy the son of Mae Fraughton. |
