Show Lindon Locals The Lindon School PTA officer's re-elected Pearl Fovvlke as president. presi-dent. Bette Millar was chosen as vice president and Marjorie Walker Walk-er as treasurer. With her baby, Pat, her mother, Mrs. Philo T. Edwards of Orem, and her aunt, Mrs. Maud G. Rowley Row-ley also of Orem, Norma Brady motored to Logan recently to visit with another aunt, Mrs. Maiy Palmer. Pal-mer. Members of the Lindon Ward Senior Aaronic Priesthood class and their wives are invited to attend at-tend a cottage meeting at the home of Dee and Evelyn Blake Friday, April 6 at 8 p.m. Mrs. Alvin G. Youngberg of Salt Lake City, recently re-cently returned from Okinawa, will show films of the Island and tell of her experiences while a resident there. The Leonard Abrahams had as visitors recently Mr. and Mrs. John D. Rogers from Manti, who shared dinner and an evening with the Abrahams. Mr. Rogers has replaced replac-ed O. Bent Peterson as second counselor in the Manti Temple presidency. Mr. Peterson was called call-ed to serve as recorder in the new LDS Temple at Los Angeles, Calif. Wanda C. Dukeshire left Lindon Monday for her home in Ely, Nev. after spending two days with her daughter, Mrs. ' Ted Young, and family and helping her six-year-old grandson Lyman, celebrate his birthday on Easter Sunday. Besides Be-sides receiving birthday gifts, Lyman Ly-man boasted a special birthday cake with Easter-egg candles surrounding sur-rounding a bunny candle, which he shared with his mother, father, grandmother, sisters, Kathie and Peggy, and brothers Jay and Terry. Ter-ry. Mrs. Owen Hooley confessed bewilderment be-wilderment when she received a cablegram from her son Glen, stationed sta-tioned at Orleans, France, announcing announ-cing (or predicting) the birth of her first grandchild, a girl,, to Glen's wife. The baby was born in France, March 28 at 10:01 a.m. while the cablegram was received in Lindon March 28, at 9 a.m. Also rejoicing over the event are great-grandparents great-grandparents for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Heber M. Day of Murray, and great-great grandparents grandpar-ents for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Alma F. Jolley of San Diego, Calif. The baby weighs six pounds and six ounces. Arriving in Lindon early Saturday Satur-day morning in time for the annual Easter egg hunt in the park and to spend Easter Sunday with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Leon-ard Abraham, were David, Helen, Robert, Ross, and Mark with their mother, Mrs. A. G. (Thora) Youngberg, Young-berg, from Salt Lake City. Following Follow-ing the hunt with their cousins, Susan and Dennis Chidester, son and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Ter-ry Chidester, the Youngberg children child-ren (all except Mark) went "East-ering" "East-ering" and attended a matinee. As soon as passport arrangements can be made Mrs. Youngberg with the children will be joining her husband hus-band in Madrid, Spain, where he is working for the U.S. Navy as an architectural engineer. After spending several days with her sister, Ireta Gunnell of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Howard Duncan of San Francisco, Calif., accompanied by her husband and three children, stopped by Monday to see her sister, sis-ter, Mrs. Ivan Blain of Lindon, with another sister, Katherine Hickman. The Duncans will return to Lindon for a longer stay with Mrs. Blain before visiting Mr. Duncan's Dun-can's relatives in Kansas prior to journeying to Los Angeles, Calif, from where they are scheduled to sail to Pearl Harbor the end of April. The Duncans have been residing re-siding in :San Francisco while Mr. Duncan, a Navy career man, has been attending school. They plan to live in Pearl Harbor for three years. |
