Show 4 DUP Camps Met at Annual Birthday Party The Daughters of Utah Pioneers of the Timpanog-os Stake met conjointly con-jointly for the Pleasant Grove birthday party on Friday in the Relic Hall, which had been renovated reno-vated and painted and made to look quite festive. Priscilla Christiansen, Captain of the Pleasant Grove Camp, conducted con-ducted the affair. Prayer was led by Alvira S. Olpin. Congregational singing, directed by Fern Hicks, was accompanied by Alice Juddi. A vocal duet "Do They Think of Me at Home," Fern Hicks, and Hazel Bullock, was accompanied ac-companied by Alice Judd, all of the Pleasant Grove Camp. The lesson, "They Came in 1956" the story of the handcart pioneers, was given by Thelma Harris of the Linden Camp. The early history his-tory of the schools in Pleasant Grove and also the story of the old Order Hall was given by Lucille H. Walker. A tribute to the Pioneers was given by Effie W. Adams and Joseph Larson, 85 yearold pioneer, pio-neer, sang one of the favorite songs of his boyhood, "I am a Mormon Boy." He was accompanied accompan-ied by Jeanette W. Warnick. Utah County DUP president, Osa Ferguson offered tribute andl encouragement en-couragement to the four camps of the DUP and the work they were doing. Lucinda Pearce pronounced pronoun-ced benediction. Refreshments were served under un-der the direction of Delia R. Smith, Captain of Lindon Camp, to 42. County officers present, beside Mrs. Ferguson were Lucile Anderson, Ander-son, second vice president; Nettie Warinsky, assistant historian; Goldie Clark Dickinson, relic chairman, chair-man, Gladys Hilton, recording secretary; sec-retary; and1 Fern Smith, county registrar. After the program, openhouse was held in the Relic Hall and log cabin. x One of the big features of the day was the cake sale, which provided pro-vided a great success with everything every-thing being sold. |
