Show Flower Show Winners Are Announced by Show Chairman "Pleasant Grove's Fall Flower Show this year was a marked success," said Mrs. Rae Christen-scn Christen-scn Wednesday morning. Mrs. Christensen was chairman of the event which iis sponsored each year by the Pleasant Grove Garden Gar-den Club. She explained that the number of entries were smaller this year than in some years past, but the quality of the blooms was ex-ceptinally ex-ceptinally fine. "We could have had a much larger display, if there had been more tables to arrange the plants and flowers," Mrs. Christensen Chris-tensen emphasized. Mrs. Ruth Cobbley won the top award of "Queen of the Show," with her entry of marigolds. Sweepstakes winners in the various var-ious departments of floriculture were as follows: 1. Arrangements Mrs. Marjorie Ellis. 2. Petunias Mrs. Ruth Cobbley. 3. Asters Mrs. Rae Christensen. 4. Zinnias Mrs. Lily Jensen of American Fork. 5. Marigolds Mrs. Ruth Cobbley. Cob-bley. 6. House Plants Mrs. Sue Holdaway, Vineyard. 7. Gladiolus Mrs. Rena Keetch, Lindon. 8. Roses Mrs. Rae Christensen. 9. Annuals Mrs. Effie Adams. 10. Perennials Mrs. Jane Armitstead. Arm-itstead. 11. Junior Division Lonnle Ol-sen, Ol-sen, Judy Ann Jackson and Jackie Holdaway, Vineyard1. One of the interesting features of the show -was the exhibits displayed dis-played by the Audubon Club, junior organization of the Garden Club. With a membership of nearly 100, the boys and girls displayed bird houses, bird feeders, peek boxes, and various collections of articles made in the hobby activities of the boys and girls. Mrs. Ida Pierson is their leader. Mrs. Christensen stated that the cake sale held during the day was very successful. The funds will be used to help finance club activities, activ-ities, particularly those of the junior jun-ior Audubon Club.
