J MANILO-ETTES Members of Manila's singing group are Lucy Haycock, accompanist, Shirley Hatch, Gloria Carter, Venice Fugal, Vema Ekins, Myrna Monson, Gwen Unthank, Helen Harvey, Betty Harvey, Norma Brown, Carol Swenson, and Gwen Adams, director. Evening of Music Being Sponsored by Manila Ward Manilo-ettes Friday Evening, Sept. 28 An evening of music featuring the Manilo-ettes and other supporting sup-porting local artists will be presented pre-sented Friday evening, September 28 at 8 p.m. in the Timpanogos Stake House. The theme for the evening is "There Are Such Things." The popular ladies chorus will be assisted by other members of the Ward and Stake as they illustrate illus-trate with song, dance, special lighting, costume and interesting stage properties the beautiful music mu-sic that everyone enjoys. The full evenings variety pro gram will be presented1 in four sections sec-tions : 1. Miscellaneous, including such numbers as "Rain," The Lilac Tree," and "Country Gardens." 2. "Seasons of the year in music," mu-sic," all beautifully illustrated. 3. Great religious songs. 4. Patriotic songs, illustrated, including in-cluding Irwin Jensen's "Lovely Land of Utah." The Manila Ward Male Quartet, comprized of Stanford Ekins, Steven Ste-ven Warnick, Willard Monson and Robert Monson, will sing two special spec-ial numbers. They will be accom panied by Nelda Warnick. Warren Kirk will be featured in two solo numbers and will assist the chorus with two songs. Mr. Kirk will be accompanied at the piano by his wife, Mrs. Winona Kirk. Special lighting will be arranged and operated by K. V. Adams and Byron Carter. Stage properties are under the direction of Kenneth Uthank and Leon Hatch. The membership of Timpanogos Stake and other music lovers are cordially invited. |
