Show Sadie Chandler Returns from European Trip After more than two busy, but enjoyable months, traveling and sightseeing in Europe andl visiting visit-ing friends in Eastern United, Mrs. Sadie M. Chandler returned home on September 9. Mrs. Chandler left here on a guided tour on June 26, by plane and on arriving in New York, was joined by Misses Amy and Lorena Cooper of Ogden, and with them boarded the plane for Europe, and landed at London, England, June 29. After crossing . the channel from Dover the rest of the traveling travel-ing was made by bus, and visited most of the countries and finer cities and historical, beauty and wonder spots of the European contintent. Buses took them to France, Mor-oco, Mor-oco, Autria, Italy. They visited. Rome, Venice, the Blue Grotto, St. Peters Cathedral, and other shriness of early Christianity. Perhaps one of the highlights of their vis'it to Italy was the Vatican and an audience with the Pope. They visited Austria Venice with her canals, and gondolas and beautiful Vienna, -which Mrs. Chandler rates as possibly the city she loved most, as the city which which has made the cleanest come back after the war. Switzerland and Holland were also clean and delightsome. Mrs. Chandler keenly enjoyed Denmark, Sweden and Scotland, which were clean and sanitary and where the people were thrifty and hospitable, and whose living standards were more like home. Also the land of the Shamrock from which they boarded the plane for home on August 26. Many things were interesting in London, England. Perhaps the highlights were Buckingham Palace, Pal-ace, Westminster Abbey, London Tower, and not forgetting Windsor Castle and the priviledge of viewing view-ing the Crown Jewels. " Leaving Ireland on August 26 and arrived in New York on Aug. 27. Leaving her companions at New York, Mrs. Chandler spent two days there and1 then went to Baltimore, where she visited with friends for ten days, before coming com-ing home. A busy and educational tour, but Mrs. Chandler says home look so good and it good to be back. |
