Utah County Child Guidance Clinic Fund Drive Will Be Conducted September 24 to 29 Headed by Jessie Shoell, the Jaycee Gems will conduct the drive for funds for the Utah County Child Guidance Clinic in Pleasant Grove. Roberts and Harold Keetch, published In this issue of the Review, a house to house canvas will be made in each of the two communities. The drive will be conducted during the week of September 24 to September 29, inclusive. According to Mrs. Phyllis Thorn- 1 son, local director of the fund-raising fund-raising compaign, additional money mon-ey is necessary in order that the clinic will be able to function until un-til the close of the year. PROCLAMATION WHEREAS, we believe that emotional and mental illness is one of the greatest public health problems in our country today, and WHEREAS, emotional and mental iUnesses often occur in children and can, in many instances, be treated) successfully thereby reducig juvenile delinquency and crime, and WHEREAS, we believe the citizens of Pleasant Grove and Lindon and Utah County are cognizant of the desperate need for an adequately staffed child guidance clinic to aid in the treatment of mental and emotional illnesses of children in Utah County, and WHEREAS, the Utah County Child Guidance Clinic is a corporate, non-profit organization, founded in 1951 for the purpose of rendering professional treatment to mentally ill and emotionally disturbed children in Utah County and WHEREAS, there are no other facilities for this purpose available to the people of Pleasant Grove, Lindon, and Utah County, and WHEREAS, it has come to our attention that the services of the Utah County Child Guidance Clinic may be lost to the people of Pleasant Grove, Lindon and Utah County unless adequate finances can be obtained through voluntary contributions contri-butions by the citizens of Pleasant Grove, Lindon and Utah County. NOW THEREFORE, we, Edward Roberts, mayor of the City of Pleasat Grove, and Harold Keetch, mayor of the City of Lindon, Utah County, Utah, do hereby proclaim that the week of September 24 to September 29, 1956 inclusive, shall be observed as Child Guidance Clinic Week throughout the cities of Pleasant Grove and Lindon, and we exhort the citizens of these great cities to give their wholehearted support to the cause of the Utah County Child Guidance Clinic to the end that the Clinic may continue to function, and our mentally ill and emotionally disturbed children may receive prompt, proper and adequate treatment.
