Show New Postmaster Appointed for Ajnerican Fork Notification was received the past week by Postmaster J. E. Chadwick, whose term expired in January, that S. T. Shelley had been appointed temporary postmaster. The change in the office will be made March 1st it was announced by Mr. Chalwick. Examinations for the post.naster are scheduled to take place on February Feb-ruary 16th but the appointment of the temporary postmaster came thru ahead of this. Mr. Shelley has been druggist and manager of Thornton Drug No. 2 for the past nineteen years. He has served as city councilman for eight years and for the past three years has acted as Democratic precinct chairman of the American Fork Fork precinct. His business ability and acquaintance with the public ably fits him for the position and his many friends are congratulating him on the federal appointment. J. E. Chadwick, outgoing postmaster, post-master, has served the government as postmaster here for twelve years, serving under four U. S. presidents. Harding, Cooledge, Hoover and Roosevelt. He has always been efficient effi-cient in the position and has been recognized as a most courteous public pub-lic servant by the public whom he has served. Mr. Chadwick announces that he has accepted the position of district manager for the Mutual Life Insurance Insur-ance company of New York with whom he has been associated for the past seventeen years. In connection with his son, Wayne, he will establish estab-lish a general insurance agency here and will handle life, causulty, fire and automobile insurance and bonds. Offices will be established and the business started shortly after March 1st. o |
