Show WARD TENNIS COURT OPENED Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p. m. the Third Ward held the formal opening of their new tennis court. A program was arranged by the M. I. A. under the direction of Joseph S. Walker and Mrs. J. M. Macfarlane. The initial game on the court was played by J. H. Walker and M. S. Christiansen under whose direction the court was built, Mr. Walker acting act-ing as chairman of the finance committee com-mittee and Mr. Christiansen chairman chair-man of the building committee. The tennis court is a project put over by the members of the ward for the recreation of its members. It is standard size with net arrangements ar-rangements for tennis, van ball and volley ball. It is located at the rear of the Third ward chapel. The court cast about $400.00 of this $240.-00 $240.-00 cash for material and $250.00 labor were used. Contributions ranged from $.50 to $50.00. Mrs. Mary McKell, who spent the pa.st week with her sister, Mrs. J. D. Thorne, returned to her home in Heber Sunday. |
