Show WORK COMMENCES ON LEGION BUILDING The regular monthly meeting of the American Legion was held at the City Hall January 4th, with Commander Com-mander J. C. Mercer, Jr., 'in charge. A plot of ground north of the building to be used for Legion head- quarters has been purchased by the city for the sum of $45, plus taxes. This will make possible a north entrance en-trance to the building. Work has started on the building and with $3,000 available the work will be carried car-ried on to completion. The first allotment of men consisting con-sisting of Ed Paxman, Albert Lee, Jack Iverson, Orin Riech, Sid Beck and Ken Phillips were assigned to work on the project and are now engaged in that capacity. Glen Wright, architect, is serving with out pay in the overseeing and drawing of plans. |
