Show I Pleasant Grove Locals j The monthly M. I. A. union meeting meet-ing cf the Timpanogos stake will be held Wednesday evening, January 17th. All ward workers are especially especial-ly invited to be present. Dr. Beeley of the U. of U. gave a very well attended lecture at the high school Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Tomlinson entertained a number of. Salt Lake friends Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Weston Hales and Mi-, and Mrs. Fred Foutz spent Sunday Sun-day in Magna visiting with relatives. Mrs. Kate Hayes returned recently recent-ly from a two weeks visit with her sons, Stewart and Walter Mason at Rexburg, Idaho. Mrs. A. L. Burnham and Mrs. Florence Pierce have accepted positions posi-tions at the gtate Mental hospital at Provo. Vern Cullimore and Laura Keetch, employes of D. T. R. Co.. attended a meeting of all D. T. R. employes at Provo Wednesday evening. Mrs. Marcella Peterson, wife of Reed Peterson, has been seriously ill the past week but is reported to be improving nicely now. Mrs. Ethel Drysdale entertained at bridge Monday evening. Those enjoying en-joying the game were Mrs. C. O. Jenson, Mrs. LeRoy Thorne, Mrs. Luella Thome and Mrs. Drysdale. C. L. Wright, together with ' a number of representatives of state canning companies, left Monday night for Chicago to attend the National Na-tional Canners" convention. Mr. Wright expects to be gone about three weeks. Mr. ' and Mrs. Harley Bloomquist of Salt Lake, were dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. Bloomquist's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Harper. Rue Harper returned to Salt Lake with them for a short visit. The M. I. A. stake board held a meeting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. L. Jarman, Tuesday evening. After Af-ter the business had been taken care of an hour of social chat was enjoyed. en-joyed. Delicious refreshments were served. Mr. and Mrs. William Ash and son, Virlond, A. B. Harper and son Verl and Robert Wright and son John, motored to Ogden Saturday to see the livestock show. All three of the boys had fat hogs on display at the fair and received honorable mention for their stock. Pearl Larson of Salt Lake City, who has been visiting with her brother, L. L. Larson and family, is spending this week at Provo visiting visit-ing with her aunt and cousin, Mrs. Christena Warnick and Miss Effie Wamick. Mrs. Lydia B. Lund returned Monday Mon-day from a three weeks visit with her sons, Martell and .LeGnande, and with her daughter Emeline, at Los Angeles. Mrs. Cleone Kirk went to Salt Lake Wednesday to visit with her mother. . S. A. Kirk and Isaac Hayes were in Salt Lake Saturday as representatives represen-tatives of the local Fish and Game Association to attend a meeting of Western Utility associations to foster the building of Utah outdoor associations. asso-ciations. Bishop S. L. Swenson and Miss Beth Swenson motored to Salt Lake City last Sunday to meet their son and brother, Prof. Russell Swenson. After visiting with Dr. and Mrs. R. R. Lyman, Dr. and Mrs. John Z. Brown and other, relatives, they returned re-turned home' Sunday evening. Russell Rus-sell has accepted a position at the B. Y. U. and no doubt will spend part of his week-ends and holidays in Pleasant Grove. 'Mr. and Mrs. Howard Warnick entertained the Anderson family last Thursday evening at a Swedish supper. sup-per. Most , of the menu served at the supper were articles cooked in Swedish Swed-ish style. The members of the family fam-ily present were, Mr. and Mrs. Law-erence Law-erence Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Lorin West, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Christiansen Christian-sen and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hilton. Hil-ton. The evening was spent in miscellaneous mis-cellaneous games and reminensces of early family life. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Adams entertained enter-tained Thursday evening at dinner in honor of their forty-sixth wedding wed-ding anniversary. A delicious turkey tur-key dinner was served to the following follow-ing guests: Mrs. Althea Halliday of i Provo Dr and Mrs. G. S. Richards, !
