Show School Opera Cast Chosen "Blow Me Down" is the name of this year's American Fork high school opera. It is piratical absurdity absurd-ity and is guaranteed to cause merriment mer-riment in the hearts of even the most hardened characters. The opera was written by Fitz Simmons and includes a number of catchy songs and clever dances. A chorus of about 50 members and a cast of 11 principals have, under the direction of K. J. Bird, commenced com-menced work on the opera which will be ready for presentation to the public the latter part of March. Under the direction of Mr. Bird some very fine operas and operettas have been produced by the American Amer-ican Fork high school students and there is no doubt that this year's j production will be equally as inter- I esting and well done as those of the past. Try-outs were held last week and the following students were finally selected for the various leading parts: Lawrence Day, Bob Trent: Nan Chipman, Nancy; Evelyn Peck, Miss Pettigrew; Beth Ellison, Judy; Mac Cunningham, Captain; Zola Grant, Mrs. Todd; Dean Gordon, Slim; Leo Dean, Ben; Keith Miller, Jake; George Riemschiissel, Dutch; Virgil Jorgensen, Pete. n |
