This insect enters the tree at l point where a limb has been cut jj Df f . They also live in old and de-saying de-saying trees, leaving the dead trees to infest the live healthy ones. In order to check these pests it is lors necessary to burn all dead and diseased di-seased trees. The council was in favor of doing what it could to help. A. W. P. A. project was proposed but no action '- taken. The Horticultural Society of Utah county offered the following recommendations: Enforce the spraying law; make a survey of the number of trees that are diseased ' and an estimate of the cost of cutting cut-ting out the old trees and burning those which should be burned. It was brought out that there is a .state law condeming diseased trees. Mayor Adamson met last week with the W. P. A. engineer and plans are well under way for the city park. Work on the park will commence as soon as the plans are completed. )Work will commence the first part of March on the project in 9 American Fork canyon at the Cave Camp. Tj The proposed ordinance removing j 11 the restriction on the number of billiard parlors which will be allow- 3r a ed in the city was defeated when Mayor Adamson, broke a tie vote of the council by voting against the bill. Councilman Nicholes was ab- sent and the remaining council e . members divided two and two, and Mayor Adamson's vote was called. The present ordinance provides Efor a billiard hall for each 2000 population, pop-ulation, giving the city two halls. ; The proposed ordinance would have placed no limit on the number.
