Show Services Conducted Con-ducted for Mrs. Nielsen Funeral services for Mrs. Francisco Francis-co Nielson were held in the Third ward chapel Monday afternoon with Bishop F. D. Atwood in charge and conducting. The opening song, "Oh My Father", was sung by the Relief Society choir and prayer was offered by Fred C. Shoell. A duet, "Shall We Meet", was sung by Hedve Christiansen and Ethel W. Carlson. The speakers were, Lewis Olpin, Hilmer M. Nielson, Niels Fugal and Bishop Atwood. A favorite poem was read by Mrs. Matilda Christian-son, Christian-son, with soft music accompaniment accompani-ment by Mary Neves. Reva W. Fugal sang "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" interspersing inter-spersing the speakers. Jennie Halli-day Halli-day sang as a closing number, "Lay My Head Beneath A Rose". The benediction was pronounced by Mons Monson and the. grave in the City cemetery was dedicated by Wil-ford Wil-ford Neves of the ward bishopric. Mrs. Francisco Nielson was born in Thiro, Denmark, August 20, 1858. She was married to Lars Nielson on February 20, 1881. They embraced the gospel in their native country and came to Utah with five small children. They first lived at Moro- ni, coming to Pleasant Grove where j they have since made their home. Mr. Nielson died several years ago. Mrs. Nielson was the mother of twelve children, eight of whom survive sur-vive their mother. They are, Mrs. Anna Ralpha, Sacramento, Calif.; Hans Nielson, Salt Lake; Louis, Burley, Idaho; Mrs. Emily Baker and Lily Raphburn, Winnamucca, Nevada; Mrs. Emma Stauffer, Los Angeles; Joseph Nielson, American Fork, and Clarence Nielson of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove. There are also 43 grandchildren grand-children and 66 greatgrandchildren. |
