Show Pleasant Grove Locals i Mrs. Lyle Kirk is at the home of her father, Mr. Miller, in American Fork assisting in his care while he is ill. Eugene West returned home Monday Mon-day after a pleasant week of sightseeing sight-seeing in Los Angeles and surrounding surround-ing Cities. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar M. Cragun of Las Vegas, Nevada, spent Wednesday Wednes-day with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Cragun. Rumel Cragun visited with relatives rela-tives and friends at Park City and Heber, Sunday. Creed Kindred of Salt Lake City visited with friends in Pleasant Grove Wednssdav and Thursday. Mrs. May Smith returned to Lehi i Sunday after spending a week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George H. Shoell. Miss Edna Fugal went by train to Nampa, Idaho. Saturday and visited until Monday with her sister. sis-ter. Mrs. Melba Gootch 'and family Kenneth Dale West, young son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy West, h improving improv-ing nicely from the broken leg which he suffered at school Decem-ber Decem-ber 2nd. The doctor reports fav-I fav-I orable progress and he is able to be out with the aid of crutches. Mr. and Mrs. R-y West and family fam-ily will leave in the near future to 'make their home at P37 F?st Garfield Gar-field Avenue in Salt Lake City. The family have been well respected members of the First ward for many years, Mr. West having been a member Of the bishopric in that ward for some time. The good wishes of the community go with them to their new home. Junius A. West cashier of the Bank of Pleaspnt Grove, left Tuesday Tues-day for Portland, Oregon, to attend a Western States Bankers convention, conven-tion, after which he will enjoy a 'trip down the coast and a visit in Ban Francisco and Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Amos "Wakefield vis-, vis-, ited Tuesday with Mrs. Wakefield's i sister, Mrs. Virda Grange. Mr. "Wakefield is forest Inspector for the C. C. C. camps in this division. Several scarlet fever quarantine flags have been ptit out this week. ! Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Robbins !of Heber visited relatives and 'friends I in Pleasant Grove Sunday and Mon-iday. Mon-iday. i o Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Carlson of Charleston, visited Sunday with their parents and other relatives here. Joseph H. Adams was a Salt Lake City visitor, Wednesday. Little Miss Emmeline Kirk had the misfortune to fall Friday and break her arm, while roller skating. Eugene Allred just returned from a two weeks' trip to the Pacific coast where he enjoyed a vacation and a number of visits to large canning plants. He left yesterday to attend the state canners convention at Og-den Og-den today and Saturday. John Fugal, Glen Nielsen and Boyd Fugal were hosts at a very pleasant social evening held at the Jens P. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Cummings of Heber visited with Mr. and Mrs. Byron Adamson Sunday. Mr. Cummings Cum-mings -as a brother to Mrs. Adam-son. Adam-son. j Richard Harvey and Bardell Mon-; Mon-; son, hoth of Pleasant Grove, recently werfe selected as charter members of the newly organized meia's social umt, "Trojan", at "Brigham Young university. Both 'are freshmen, and both are majoa-iiag in agriculture. ."Mr. Harvey is vice-president and Mr. Monson was 'selected as reporter for the Trojans. Frank B. Newman was veiy pleasantly pleas-antly surprised Saturday evening when twenty-four members of his debating 'Class ari-ived at his home. The ensuing pleasant eveniiag "was spent in progressive games aiad refreshments re-freshments were served. The manager man-ager of the debating class gave a speech of appreciation for what Mr. Newman has done for them, and presented him with a gift. Mr. Newman took 20 debaters to Ogden the first of February to the two day debating tournament and -won first place in the contest. He has a class of 40 students, and all are enthusiastic enthusias-tic and appreciative of the lessons and problems taken up in this course. Miss Lois Greenwood, Miss Grace .Parker and Miss Vivian Jorgensen, Central teachers who reside in American Fork, entertained :at the liome of Miss Greenwood JJriday evening. Those who attended were: Mr. and Mrs. LeGrande White, Dr. and Mrs. G. Y. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker, Mr. and ".Mrs. S. W. Hilton, Mrs. Emily iPederson, Mrs. Rose Radmall, Mrs. Margaret Potter, Mrs. Mabel Nelson, Leone Told, (Emma Bush and Mar jorie Holdaway. Contest games 'were :played, prizes going to Leone Told, Marjorie Holdaway and Emily Ped-erson. Ped-erson. All enjoyed a most pleasant evening. The family of J. H. Adams gathered gather-ed at his home Sunday -with pots and pans full of prepared Jood and served a delicious dinner In honor of his 72nd birthday anniversary, which fell on February 22nd. Those present besides the guest of .honor and Mrs. Adams were: Mr. rand Mrs. C. A. Robbins and family of Heber, Dr. and Mrs. Guy S. Richards and Mrs. Pearl Adams and daughter, Leila, of American Fork; Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Adams and family, Mrs. J. O. Clark and George Adams of Pleasant Grove. Two large birthday birth-day cakes decorated with flags. and candles served as table decorations. Birthday anessages were received from members of the family who were unable to be preseaat.
