Nielsen have cho.en to wed Saturday, Sept. 9, in the Jordan River LDS Temple. The bride-to-b- e is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John C. Owen, Highland. The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Nielsen of Orem. Pre-nupti- showers for the bride were hosted by Suzette and Christina Owen, and Helen and Shauri Nielsen. The bride-to-b- e is a graduate of American Fork High School and LDS Seminary. She is currently employed with Taylormaid Beauty Supply. . The prospective groom is a gradu-ate of Orem High School and LDS Seminary. He served in the Louisiana-- Baton Rouge LDS Mission. He will be attending Utah Valley Community College this fall. Lionel Francom, executive secretary, was absent. Richard Clasby sustained as new bishop Richard Clasby has been sustained as bishop of the Pleasant Grove Sixteenth Ward. His counselors are Terry Hunter and Walt Burgener. Released as bishop was Evan Mattinson and his counselors Stan Crump and Terry Hunter. The clerks from the former bishopric were retained. They are Owen Wright, ward clerk; Lionel Francom, ex-ecutive secretary; David Monson, financial clerk; and Jess Monson, membership clerk. Bishop Clasby is married to the former Barbara (Bobby) Klein and they are the parents of six children. The new bishop has held many church callings, including serving as bishop in another ward. He was a member of the Timpan-ogo- s Stake High Council at the time of his present calling. Bishop Clasby is the deputy di-rector of the Utah Correctional Industries. Terry Hunter, first counselor, is married to the former Norah Ten-ne- They have three children. Terry served as second counselor in the previous bishopric and be-fore that he was in the scouting program. He loves scouting, hiking, etc. He works as a shop and technol-ogy teacher at Crescent View Middle School in the Jordan School Dis-trict. He is also working on his Mas-ters Degree at Utah State Unier-sity- . He hopes to get it in June. Walt Burgener, second counselor, is married to the former Ann Wilkey and they have four children. Walt served as scoutmaster and before that he was financial clerk in the bishopric. He is in the com-puter industry. Owen Wright is married to the former Karen Mendenhall and they have five children. He has also served as Sunday School president before being ware clerk in the former bishopric as well. He works as a salesman of re-fractories. Lionel Francom is married tc Beverly Warburton and they have four children. Before he was called to be execu-tive secretary in the former bishop-ric, he was in a BYU ward bishop-ric. He is a truck driver for Westroc. David Monson is married to the former Cecille Deardorf and they have six children. He served in this same position in the former bishopric. He is a teacher at Mountain View High School in Orem. Jess Monson is married to June Cranney Monson and they have six children. Jess has served in this same position for many years. Elder Jeff Hamling returns from mission to Munich, Germany j if i Elder Jeff Hamling will report on his recent LDS mission on Sun-day, Sept. 3, in the Pleasant Grove Nineteenth Ward, 474 N. 700 East, at 8:30 a.m. Elder Hamling, son of Jerry and Julie Hamling, is returning from the Munich Germany LDS Mis-sion. All friends and relatives are invited to hear his report and to the family home, 967 N. 1020 East, to visit with Jeff on Sunday. Elder Hamling served through-out the mission area, including Austria. He fulfilled an honorable mission serving in many capacities and converting many to the LDS Church. He also served as an assistant to the mission president. Jeff Hamling Yards of the week selected Five more yards have been se-lected as Yards of the Week by the Pleasant Grove Beautification Commission. The winning yards this week are owned by William and Carol Gough, 535 E. 500 North; Joyce Poulson, 910 N. 100 West; Ivadell Nelson, 550 S. 1300 East; Ken and Gwen Unthank, 1890 N. 100 East; and Kent and Janet Anderson, 1350 W. Anderson Lane. The winners have received cer-- . tificates and have a sign in their yard designating it as a Yard of the Week. In September the Beautification Commission will name the three top yards of the summer. If anyone has suggestions for the judges of yards deserving the honor, please call Councilman Dale Warburton.
