Show - - i Couple honored on anniversary Calvin and Ila Schow Swenson Mrehonored by their children at a jinnerin celebration of their 50th eliding anniversary. They were fflarriedAug. 18, 1939 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Calvin grew up in Pleasant Grove. ge served an LDS mission to Norway Nor-way and is a graduate of BYU. He is well-known and respected in the business world, having spent 46 vears in the banking profession. ' He retired as president of the Slate Bank of Lehi, now known as Deseret Bank, in 1986. He has held various positions in the banking industry both regionally and nationally, na-tionally, including president of the Utah Banker's Association. He also served a four year term as the mayor of Lehi. He is an active member of the LDS Church and has held many positions, including bishop and second counselor in the Provo Temple. He and Ila served a mission mis-sion together in the Atlanta, Georgia Geor-gia Temple. They are currently workers in the Provo Temple. Calvin has many talents. Two that he greatly enjoys are garden-jig garden-jig and woodworking. His family and neighbors enjoy the benefits of these talents. Ea grew up in Lehi and is also a 'graduate of BYU. While at the "Y" she served as studentbody vice president and has since been a member of the BYU Alumni Association Asso-ciation Board. She taught school at Calvin and Ila Swenson Spanish Fork High School prior to her marriage and was a substitute teacher in the Alpine School District. Dis-trict. Ila has held various positions in the church, including assistant temple matron and member of the stake Relief Society presidency. She is an excellent cook and quilter and enjoys her grandchildren. They are the parents of six children: chil-dren: Stephen, Lehi; Judith Burn-ingham, Burn-ingham, Orem; Lauria Reese, Highland; High-land; Connie Allen, Vineyard; Lane, Pleasant Grove; and Shauna Peterson, Pe-terson, Coalville. Theyhave 33 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. |
