Smith. ! obituaries William I. West Viola S. Wilder Earl H. Hooley, 60, of Pleasant Grove died Feb. 9, 1986 at the American Fork Hospital following a heart attack. He was born December 20, 1925 in Lindon, a son of Howard and Gladys Fryer Hooley. He married Carol Clements Zobell on Feb. 2, 1963 in Elko, Nevada. He was a member of the LDS Church living in the Pleasant Grove Ninth Ward. He had attended schools in Lindon and Pleasant Grove. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II. He had worked as a brick mason for many years, won the Golden Trowell award for Mason of the year for the State of Utah. He is survived by his wife of Pleasant Grove; three sons and two daughters: Yvonne Zobell, American Fork; Calie Zobell, Orem; Donna Zobell and Dirk Hooley both of Pleasant Grove; Clayton Hooley, Provo; six grand-children; five brothers and two sisters; Ron Prestwich, Idaho; Cliff Prestwich, St. George; Harold Prestwich, Heber City; Elwood Prestwich, Orem; Helen Phillips, Ogden; Owen Atwood, Salt Lake City; Stanley Prestwich, Washington. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Olpin Family Mor-tuary, 500 South at 300 East, Pleasant Grove where friends may call Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. or Thursday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Full military rites will be performed by the V.F.W. District 4. I v ; I Ward Chapel, with Bishop John C. Roberts conducting. Robert Messersmith gave the family prayer. Gary Christensen offered the invocation. Speakers included Paul Messersmith, Eldon Sandiano and Bishop Roberts. Musical numbers included vocal duets of "Beyond the Sunset" and "Abide Viola Clara Wilder, 60, Pleasant Grove, died Friday, Feb. 7, 1986 at a local nursing home. She was born Oct. 9, 1925 in New York, N.Y. to John and Julia Bojnovics Szmolinka. She married Benjamin Gordon Wilder Sept. 17, 1943 in Trenlon, N.J. She spent her childhood days in Trpptnn N .1 and at tended schools there. She was a member of the United Baptist Church. She had worked as a den mother. She had worked as a clerk at Sears for many years. Survivors include her husband, Tampa, Fla.; a daughter and three sons: Gregory John Wilder, Pleasant Grove; Gordon Earl Wilder, Garry Lee Wilder and Mrs. Richard (Gale) Schenke, all of Tampa, Fla.; seven grand-children; two sisters: Mary Feenan, Tampa, Fla.; and JoAnn Bemis, ' Covina, Calif. Services and burial were Tuesday in Tampa, Fla. Funeral director was Olpin Family Mortuary, Pleasant Grove. Ethel Smith West Card of Thanks William I. He married Josephine Carrell Aug. 7, 1922. le marriage was later lemnized in the Salt ike LDS Temple Jan. , 1954. She preceded m in death Oct. 22, 70. He married Lamar ;rdin July, 1971, and ey made their home in merican Fork. He was active LDS Church id civic leader. He lived in Stockton, ah, for about 50 years, lere he served on the vvn council, was the ayor and was the city arshall. He held various sitions in the LDS lurch and served as a gh priest. He worked for Tooele iunty Road Depart-ent- s, where he retired ter 22 years. He was an . avid ortsman and spent uch of his retired time in ting and fishing. He is a member of the jod Sam Club and the oele Gem and ineral Society. He will remembered by his andchildren for the Our loving sister, Ethel Smith, passed away Feb. 9, 1986 in a Salt Lake hospital. She was born May 13, 1912 in Pleasant Grove, a daughter of Leon M. and Genevieve Thorne Smith. She attended schools in Pleasant Grove and grew to her adult years there. She resided most of her life in Ogden and Salt Lake City. She was employed in the candy making business in both cities. Her joy in life was her work. She was dearly loved and respected by her family and was loved and admired by her employers and her many friends. Ethel never married, but showered her love We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many friends, neighbors and family members for all the expressions of sym-pathy and love shown us at the death of our husband, father and grandfather, William Isaac West. We appreciate all those who took part in anyway in the funeral service. We want to express our many thanks to the hishoDric and Relief Society of the 16th Ward for all they did, and all those who called at the home and mortuary and for the lovely floral offerings and the food prepared for our comfort. He is survived by his wife; four sons, Blaine C, Tooele; William J., Lehi; Arnold K., Thoreau, N.M.; Donald R., ,., Stockton; two daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Dorothy) Small, Erda; Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Messersmith, Cedar Fort; four step sons, Lewis Dade, Mark Dade, Marian Dade and Joe Nerdin, all of American Fork; four step daughters, Mrs. Bill (Georgia) Christiansen, Mrs. Gordon (Claudia) Case, Mrs. William (Betty Jo) West, all of Lehi; Mrs. Arnold (Mary Helen) West, Thoreau, N.M. ; 31 grandchildren; and 45 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Norma) Small. Funeral services were held Feb. 4 in the American Fork 16th With Me" by Rose Boice and Kim Davidson and a musical number, "Oh My Father," by Sharlene Ha worth. Lydia Kirkpatrick accompanied the duets, and also performed the prelude and postlude. Bernard Friday gave the benediction. Casket bearers were Steve West, Carey West, Ben Nerdin, Kevin Messersmith, Jason Case and Montie Small. Honorary casket bearers were Mike West, Jerry Small, Donnie West, Rickey Case, Troy Nerdin, Joe West, Paul Messer-smith, Ralph Messer-smith, Terry Messer-smith, Kimball Messersmith, Rickey Stevenson and Jeff West.
