Show 'Mary The Chosen' elevates, educates By MARCELLA WALKER The one-woman show, "Mary The Chosen," by Jody Renstrom gives an audience new insights into how the mother of Jesus may have felt as she carried forth her destiny. Jody decided to do this show after she had performed the part of Mary in a Utah Technical College production. She felt it was a story that should be told. It was presented this past Friday, Saturday and Monday at the Valley Center Playhouse in Lindon. The show only lasts about one hour, but Mrs. Renstrom does a superb job of portraying this woman who has been revered over the ages. She portrays Mary as a humble girl, a normal girl for her day who is as surpised with her calling as anyone. Interwoven in the story which we all know of Jesus, The Savior, are tidbits of history, customs, and religion of the Jewish people of that day. The costume, the props, and the hairstyle are all in keeping with what one would have found in Nazareth in those days.
