Show Facilities list upcoming needs Nursing homes and care facilities throughout Utah County have ongoing on-going needs for volunteers to help in a variety of activities and projects. Some of these facilities and their specific needs are listed. Lindon: Lindon Care and Training Center has 66 mentally retarded female residents from age 14 to 65. Most of them go to various jobs in the community each day but, according to Elaine Gibbs-Claspell, administrator, they lack social contacts and need friendly advocates ad-vocates who can go shopping with them, go on outings, or just get an ice cream cone and chat. A "big" ongoing need is for someone who can mend clothing such as hemming, sewing up seams and so on. Pleasant Grove: Alpine Valley Care Center needs a bingo caller for one to one and one-half hours on Tuesay mornings at 9:40 a.m. and on Fridays at 2:30 p.m.; help at story time, about one-half hour once a week; one male and one female resident have no familv ..
