Show to restore &G9 On Little Mountain, the "G", unifying symbol of our Pleasant Grove High School and the community, com-munity, is in danger of tumbling into a heap at the bottom of the hill. Members of the Pleasant Grove chapter of Kiwanis International and Mayor Holdaway recently trekked to the "G" to see what could be done to stop the erosion and improve the appearance of the "G." Plans have been made to re-terrace re-terrace the area above the "G," to realign some areas of the structure, and at a later date (next spring) to resurface the face of the "G" with rock and calcite which would give a perpetual white appearance to the whole face. Obviously, such an undertaking is going to require many man-hours of labor and considerable funds. The Kiwanis Club is seeking the active support of student groups, civic clubs and private citizens in this effort. The first phase of these plans, the re-terracing of the area above the "G," will begin this coming Saturday morning, Nov. 2, at 8 a.m. A work force of approximately 100 volunteers will be required to accomplish ac-complish the work. Volunteers should meet at the Kiwanis pavilion at the bottom of the "G" trail. Bring picks andor shovels and a lunch and canteen. Boyd Fugal, member of Kiwanis International, is acting as coordinator coor-dinator for the project. For more information, call Boyd at 785-2442, or Kiwanis president Jim Gilson, 785-1002. i , ' '"--.
