Show Firewood permits available Don Nebeker, Uinta National Forest Supervisor, stated that firewood permits will go on sale beginning June 25 from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. -and will be valid for the period beginning July 2 through Sept. 30, 1984. Permits will be available at the Supervisor's office at 88 West 100 North in Provo; Spanish Fork District Ranger's Office, 44 West 400 North in Spanish Fork; and Heber District Ranger's Office,' 125 East 100 North in Heber City. Approximately 8,500 permits are available. Prices will vary by wood types, which include live aspen, live oak, or dead and down wood, but there is a $10 minimum charge per permit. Information regarding access to the wood sale areas will be given to the public at the time of permit purchase. Permits must be picked up in person. Firewood gatherers are reminded to please pack out what they pack in, to help maintain the beauty of the Forest. |
