( 1 DIUK ll I.A SMITH, Pleasant Grove City Librarian, seems ecstatic over the new sidewalk which tasbJ strucled from the north side of the library to the main entrance. New sidewalks installed at city librarj Library patrons will be happy to know that sidewalks have been installed from the north side of the building to the front door, doing away with the need to tramp across muddy lawns to get to the library. Drucilla Smith, Pleasant Grove City Librarian, said that the sidewalks had been needed for a long time. Patrons hesitated to park on the north side of the library because of having to walk through the damp and often muddy grass. Parking on the north side will now be a convenience with the construction of a "Y" shaped sidewalk to the library's main entrance. The huge trees on the lawn keep the sun from drying out the soil and the grass is sparse because of the lack of sun creating the walking problem. Mrs. Smith said that the floors at the library have been difW keep clean with patrons track" mud all the time. The sidewalk be a great help in this respect 4 she noted. The library has a copier on for a couple of weeks. Mrs said the in the next budget hoped to be able to b,," permanent copier because it is a.' ', an aid to those doing researdi-th- ' library. She said there will also be an ( elephant and a giraffe made from chicken wire that the children can decorate with crepe paper. "Hopefully, we will have more volunteers come forth and offer a few minutes of their time sometime ; during the three days that the festival will be running," said Mrs. Coons. She said she can be reached at the recreation department at 7&5-617- "The response from the community and the Strawberry Days Committee seems to be really good," she said. She added that those who have been contacted to help have commented that this kind of project is long overdue for the community. |
