Show The season winds down to lost wallets and parking problems As the ski season winds down in Park City, so has crime, at least according to this week's police blotter. The Park City Police Department Depart-ment spent most of the week keeping parties quiet and looking into parking problems. prob-lems. On April 10, Marilyn Weaver reported that someone some-one had broken into her car by smashing the rear window when it was parked in the underground parking at the Sweetwater Condominiums near the Park City Ski Area. A tool kit valued at $385 was stolen. The apartment of Harold Bames in the Day Star condominiums was broken into, according to the police blotter on April 9. Bames, who was out of town at the time, is making an inventory of the stolen goods. David Schlapper reported on April 9 that someone had let the air out of his tires while his car was parked at 316 Woodside Ave. He also reported that earlier someone some-one had siphoned gasoline from his tank. A 31-year-old ParkWest man was arrested for DUI on April 7 after police noticed him driving erratically down Park Avenue. After failing field sobriety tests, he was booked into the County Jail. Tanya Simpson reported her purse missing after she left it on the Park Meadows bus. According to the report she got off the bus at the Resort Center leaving the purse behind. It has not been recovered. A Miami, Fla. man, Tom Frese reported on April 6 that he had lost his wallet in Janeaux's. The -wallet contained con-tained $300 to $400 in cash and his driver's license as well as numerous credit cards. Also on April 6, Bob Fergusen reported his skis stolen from the Park City Resort Plaza. The skis are described as Rossignol Snowbirds with Salomon bindings. They are valued at $150. Jimmy Harris of Sherman Oaks, Calif, reported on April 5 that his wallet was lost at the Park City Resort Center. The black leather wallet contains his driver's license and various credit cards. On April 4, Jeff Sorenson reported that his backpack was stolen from the Holiday Inn. The pack contained a camera and lenses valued at $535. |
