Silver Kicks booted by Brew Ha's, 2-1 The Silver Kicks, after starting off the spring portion of their season with two wins, dropped a game last Saturday Satur-day to the Brew Ha's, 2-1. The loss pushed the Kicks' record down to 6-5. Coach Kathy Benner said the Kicks, Park City's adult women's soccer team, con trolled the play in the first half, but couldn't put much pressure on the Brew Ha's goal. The Brew Ha's scored on a breakaway midway through the first half to take the lead. Then near the end of the half the Kicks tied the score on a goal by Heidi Hunter. Jill Snyder assisted. In the second half the Brew Ha's really applied the pressure, Benner said, and the Kicks responded with a tense playing style. Benner said the Kicks were not communicating with each other on offense or defense. Well into the half the Brew Ha's scored another goal on a breakaway, and that ended the scoring and the game at 2-1. Benner said the Kicks have a new player on the team: left wing Wendy Smith. "She is a real strong player," Benner said. The next game tor the Kicks is scheduled to be in Park City this weekend, but has been postponed for obvious reasons. The Silver Kicks' male counterparts, the High Rollers, Rol-lers, saw their game this past weekend postponed. They will try again next weekend. |
