Show Utah State Fair announces entertainment lineup The Utah State Fair will again feature some of the nation's biggest country-western country-western singing stars, according ac-cording to Fair Director Art Jones. "Folks who normally are willing to pay $10 or more to hear a star like Mel Tillis or Tom T. Hall sing can come to the Fair scheduled this year for Sept. 8-18 and hear them at no extra cost, once they pay the $3.50 adult general admission price," Jones said. Youths 6-16 years old pay $1.50, and children under 6 get in free, he added. Persons who want to be sure of a seat for either of two nightly performances by any of the singing stars can purchase reserved seats for $3 each, Jones said. One thousand reserved seats will be sold for each performance, perform-ance, in addition to the 5.000 free seats available to fairgoers. Information is available on reserved seats as well as season and family passes by phoning the fair office at 533-5858. Jones listed the nightly entertainment for the state lair as follows: Sept. 8 Fair Queen Pageant Sept. 9 David Frizell and Shelly West Sept. 10 Reba McEntire Sept. 11 Tom T.Hall Sept. 12 Family Night Spectacular Sept. 13 Louise Mandrell Sept. 14 Ricky Skaggs Sept. 15 Mel Tillis Sept. 16 Boxcar Willie Sept. 17-18 - RMRA Champion Cham-pion of Champions Hodeo "Besides those features, we have plenty of other entertainment lined up," Jones added. "We'll have Dave Merrifield on the helicopter trapeze; two great musical comedy acts the Jack D'Johns and Williams Will-iams & Ree; Ben Vander-meide Vander-meide the always-popular hypnotist; Jim Herrington, a one-man band who is a special favorite with the kids; and plenty more. Bob Munden, the world's fastest gun, will be with us throughout through-out the fair. "The Ice Capades showing of Smurfs Alive at the Salt Palace from Sept. 8-18 sets up two great family values for the price of one," Jones continues "because an ice show ticket includes admission admis-sion to the state fair." |
