Art auction to offer more than 200 items "The auction is really important impor-tant to us," said Kimball Art Center Director Diane Balaban. She explained that revenues from the annual art auction are used to help meet the center's month-to-month operating expenses. "And I think it is a fun way to support the art center, more so than just being asked to make a donation." This year's auction is slated to begin at 6 p.m. Saturday with an hour of cocktails and silent bidding. Balaban said more than 200 art objects have been donated by art festival artists, members of the Park City Artists Association, local galleries and other regional artists. "In addition to a few more expensive pieces we also have a lot of wonderful gifts," she said. The live auction will begin at 7 p.m. with K ALL radio announcer Mike Runge directing the bidding. bid-ding. Among the items to be auctioned will be ceramic tiles by Lark Lucas, a watercolor by Cecile Johnson, a diamond pendant by Dick Doty, cloisonne jewelry, photographs, silk scarves, hand-woven hand-woven sweaters and wood toys.
