Show P.C. Men's Coalition becomes first SOB Members of the Park City Men's Coalition recently became the first bunch of SOB's Special Olympics Boosters in town. A contribution of $851.20 to the 1985 International Winter Special Olympics Games cemented their status in the annals of Special Olympics history. Coalition members Craig Masters and Bob Richer received a plaque from Games director Jim Murphy to honor ; their commitment to being SOBs.' "Special Olympics is a locally-based, locally-based, charitable group that we felt probably gave more benefit to more people than any other group we could donate to," said Coalition president-elect Ray Robidoux. The Men's Coalition has also made a future commitment of additional funds as well as a major commitment of volunteer time donations. "We are going to make the '85 Games our major thrust this winter," said Robidoux. The coali tion contributed proceeds from the sale of food at the Miners Day Picnic and promoted the Games by wearing Special Olympics shirts. The 1985 International Winter Special Olympics Games (IWSOG), to be held in March, will be the first international Olympic event ever held in Utah. Special Olympics provides therapeutic thera-peutic sports training and competition competi-tion for mentally retarded children ' and adults. Nearly 800 athletes are expected to attend, coming from every state in the U.S. and 14 foreign countries. Competition will be held in alpine and cross country skiing, as well as figure and speed skating. The chance to become a certified SOB is open to anyone willing to give a contribution of $5 or more to the 1985 IWSOG. Appropriate memorabilia memor-abilia will be awarded at all levels.
