The ideal ski area, Park I West offers excellent slopes, I uncrowded conditions and a I friendly atmosphere. Earlier I in the year, it was announced I by Park West Management I Company, that Park West I would not open this winter. I Since then, the resort has I been leased by White Pine I Management Corporation. I The lease includes the ski 1 area and the base facilities. I The condominiums at the I resort remain under the I management of Park West Management Co. jk Wayne Ragland, mountain f manager at Park West for the' past six years, is now t general manager of Park M West Ski Area. When Park West Manage- I ment Co. announced their I plans to close the resort, I Wayne, working with a ' group of Salt Lake business men and Park West fans, u formed the White Pine f J J Management Corporation, p I The group raised the I fM necessary investment capital If ?V and leased the resort, for the Ps 1982-83 ski season, with an option to renew for the a 1983-84 season. Peter added. The Park West Family Season Pass, for a family of two or more, is $175 for the first adult, $150 for the second adult, $125 for a youth 13 to 18 years and $90 for a child 6 to 12 years. Children five and under ski free, when other family members have bought the family pass. Throughout the 1982-83 ski season, Park West, in conjunction with 7-Eleven Stores, will offer "Seven lifts for eleven dollars." "We really have a big ski area," Peter said. "Much bigger than most people realize. It takes getting up on the mountain to appreciate the wide open quality of our runs." : . The food service is being managed by Wolfgang Soun-tag, Soun-tag, former owner of the Cafe Ritz in Old Town. The Branding Iron, a full service restaurant at the base of the mountain, will feature German Beers, and live entertainment. The Chuck Wagon, a Cafeteria located in the Day Lodge, will feature a daily skier lunch special. The Rawhide Depot, located mid-mountain, at the bottom of Iron Horse and slaughterhouse lifts, will feature Mexican food. The Look Out House, at the top of the Mountain, is located at the top of Tomahawk and slaughter house lifts. For those who haven't acquired a taste for the rich dark german beers featured at the Branding Iron, there is a state liquor store located in the base cafeteria, open from 10:00 A.M. to Midnight. Tim Mertens and Bill Plummer have leased the sport shop and ski rental facility at the base of the mountain. There store, Red Pine Sports, will offer everything a skier could need in the way of rentals, or purchases. The Park West Ski School will offer classes for every ability level. Whether your a green horn, or interested in race training, Park West has what you're looking for. ' , 1 The PSIA affiliated school under the direction of Doug Harmon, enjoys the reputation reputa-tion of having respected, friendly, sincere personel and an enjoyable approach to teaching ski technique. Group and private lessons are available, as well as the Park West Kinderschool. Kinderschool, under the direction of Bev Carhart, is for children three to eight years of age. Bev also directs the Park West special Ski Foundation for handicapped skiers. Park Wests Race Training Sessions will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M. with Rob Harrison Harri-son and Mark Mason coaching. coach-ing. As always, cross country skiers are still welcome at Park West Ski Area. A 'half-day' morning lift ticket is new this year. A more extensive shuttle bus. route will serve residents and visitors in Park City and Deer Valley.
