Show Didn't Recognize Them An item in last week's police blotter indicated Bob Fleck reported a burglary in progress at his neighbor's house, but the burglars turned out to be owners of the residence who had locked themselves out. Fleck called the Record this week very angry saying the story made him look "silly" because he didn't recognize the intruders as his neighbors. He said he couldnt recognize his neighbors because they live in California and up until the incident he had never seen them use the house. Ski Rack Taken On Dec. 1, Don Harmanson's $40 ski rack was stolen from his rented car in the Sweetwater garage, harmanson was visiting from Ohio. Squealer Gets Towed Timothy Lee Spiver called authorities Dec. 2 to have an illegally parked car removed from in front of his Calumet Circle home. The car had apparently been there over 72 hours and was blocking snow plowing efforts. When the wrecker got to Calumet the driver found Spiver's vehicle also in violation and had it towed away as well. PCPD secretary Carol Weaver said Spiver was extremely angry. Auto Burglary Wanship resident Pam Pace told officers Nov. 29 her purse and briefcase were taken from her car parked at Holiday Village. Burgalrs broke a window to get to the items. The briefcase apparently contained keys to Park Meadows Plaza, a copy of the county budget and mail destined for the Summit County Health Department. Pace is apparently employed by the department. Officials do not suspect espionage as a motive. Impound Infraction A stereo tape player was taken out of a Toyota while it was in city impound. According to the police report a window was broken out of the vehicle to give burglars access to the stereo. Dogs Avert Break-In Linda Singleton reported an attempted break-in Dec. 3 at her Venus Court home. Singleton said she came home and found a laundry-room door had been tampered with. Since she keeps two dogs in the room, officers believe their barks frightened away the prowlers. Kid in Stolen Shades A local juvenile was spotted wearing a pair of stolen vuarnet sunglasses Dec. 4. The expensive eyewear was reported stolen recentlv from a residence. Snowmaking Irks Guest A guest staying at Snowflower condos has complained about the noise and diesel fumes associated with the Park City SH Area's snowmaking efforts on nearby slopes. Gas Cans Gone Darwin Sorensen of Riverton, Utah reported the theft of six five gallon gas cans valued at $120 including gas. The petrol containers were removed from Sorensen's snowmobile trailer Dec. 3 while it was parked at 1500 Woodside. Lights Out A mysterious prowler at Shadow Ridge turned off the lights Dec. 4 on the hotel's 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors. The unknown intruder also unscrewed light bulbs on the second floor, ' according to the police report. The manager thinks a disgruntled employee may be responsible. |
