Show Young People's Theater at U of IPs Pioneer Memorial Opens Season with 'Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs' The Young People's Theatre Thea-tre at Pioneer Memorial Theatre has a new look with a new director, Dr. Xan S. Johnson, a new company, and a new production approach. appro-ach. This year's season will open with the classic children's story Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs adapted by Jesse Braham White from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale. Snow White will play Wednesday through Saturday, Satur-day, December 8th through the 11th on Lees Main Stage at Pioneer Memorial Theatre. Thea-tre. ; Special this year is the new , PMT Family Evening Thea- opportunity to attend the theatre with their families. The Family Theatre performance perfor-mance dates are December 9th and 10th at 8:00 p.m. Dr. Xan S. Johnson, new director of the Young People's Peo-ple's Theatre, has incorpor-ated incorpor-ated original music and choreography to support the moods and action of the play. Sets are by Laurie Petty, costumes by Carol Day, lighting and sound by D. Deva Whitney, and choreography choreo-graphy by Kerry Shimuzu. The musical director is Kirsten Brady. The part of Snow White is1 played by Laura Tietjen and' the Prince is 4 played by Gregg Hoffbuhr. Victoria Ames Dawson plays the Queen. The Dwarfs, played by U. of U. students and Salt Lake area children, include Mark Alston, Johnny Gal-legos, Gal-legos, Rick Haddock, Cindy Schaff, Michelle Weekes, Jeff Whiting, and Wendy Wilde. Ruby Thomas, well-known local actress, plays the part of the Witch Grandmother. Other cast members, comprised of local Salt Lake children and U. of U. students, include Michelle Mich-elle Angelos, Alicia Bigelow, Kirsten Brady, Laura Brown, Carolyn Davies, Charles ' Dawson, Erin .Farley,' Mari.',' Holb rook , t UnilaV t is'ter J V Sharon Lehnerj Stacy tamb, ' Christy Summerhays, and Lisa Wilburn. Snow White opens Wednesday, Wed-nesday, December 8 and plays through Saturday, December Dec-ember 11. Shows begin at 4:15 p.m., Wednesday through Friday, with three performances on Saturday at 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 4:30 p.m. The new Family Evening Theatre plays Thursday and Friday, December Dec-ember 9 and 10, at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $2.00 for everyone. every-one.
