And for the last forty years audiences have roared at Joseph Kesserling-'s Kesserling-'s ARSENIC AND OLD LACE. This tale of the two little old ladies that dispatch lonely men with cups of Elderberry wine and then bury them in their cellar has been a favorite play of theater groups since it opened on Broadway in 1941. ! The Intermountain Actors Ensemble opens this laugh riot for its' special Christmas gift to Summit County on December 10 at 8 p.m. in the Prospector Square Theater. It's a play you can bring your children to and have them entertained as well. Heading the large experienced exper-ienced cast are Leslie Luyken as Abby Brewster, Madeline Smith as Martha Brewster, Clayton Maw a Mortimer Brewster, Roxanne Shapiro as Elaine Harper, and Van Martin as Teddy Brewster alias Teddy Roosevelt... the two villians are played by Curt Graf, as Jonathan Brewster, and Steve -iloyd, as Dr. Einstein. The supporting cast is headed by Ray Robidoux as Mr. Gibbs and Lt. Rooney, the acting husband and wife team of Enis and Barbie Gibbs, as the neighbor Mrs. Harper and Officer Brophy. Ron Burnett as the playwriting Officer O'Hara, and Bob Graf as perhaps the last victim, Mr. Witherspoon, round out the cast under the direction of Linda Martin. I.A.E. was to present this show last Christmas but because of an reorganization of the company it was postponed. I.A.E. Director Ron Burnett explains that, "I'm glad we waited because Linda has proven to be the perfect director of this show and the cast cannot be improved upon." When the question of whether or not this show was a little lightweight for I.A.E. came up, Burnett added, "I.A.E.. had as one of it's main goals to present American Classics and ARSENIC AND OLD LACE is one of the best classic comedy's around. We would be remiss if we had not included it in our repretory." ARSENIC AND OLD LACE will play December 10 and 11 and December 17 and 18 at 8 p.m. in the PROSPECTOR SQUARE THEATER Hotel in Park City. Admission is $4.50 for adults, $4 for students, children, and senior citizens and special group rates are available. Opening night will feature a reception at 7:30 p.m. with elderberry wine being served, of course. ov.- r-tir-nriiiTiTinfiwminini wwr.wr if. 1mm Players practice during rehersal for the love scene. v - - - mi ii 5Tr-w,J!T ttrr:- . flfVri L.I F 1 . s x j Intermountain Actors Ensemble presents Arsenic and Old Lace. |
