Show Fun Rua with King Tut July 4 Was King Tut a jogger? What's that you say? This year's 4th of July Fun Run will feature a tee shirt with King Tut's head and a jogger's body. The reason is simple; this year's run will benefit not only the recreation recrea-tion department but the Egyptian Theatre, as well. Hence, the head. . Organizers for this year's race are Susan and Herb Ruttenberg of Park City Lighting (a sponsor for the race) themselves both marathon mara-thon runners. Herb also serves as the president of the ' Utah Heart Association and is a veteran of 6ver thirteen marathons. Susan has run three full marathons, herself. her-self. As to why they decided to organize the race and have half the proceeds go to the Egyptian, Susan explained: "It's really very simple; we both run and we have a deep committment to supporting the arts. Park City is fortunate to have a facility such as the Egyptian Theatre available for the community. We are well aware in this age of Federal cutbacks that the private sector will need to carry the flag where the arts are concerned and this seemed like a fun way to raise some money for the theatre. The run will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Miner's Hospital on July 4th. Late registration will be taken at 7:30 a.m. The finish is planned at the Snow Creek property (also a sponsor) across from the Holiday Inn. Just so you can be sure to find the finish Snow Creek will be floating grand hot air balloons. And should you be thirsty at the finish line the Alamo Draft House (the third sponsor) will supply free beer and soft drinks for runners. Tee shirts (with the King Tut head) will be available for runners and walkers of the race, for the registration fee. The four mile run will have seven divisions: three for men, three for women, and one for wheelchair entrants. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st place runner in each group. Forms for the race are available at the Alamo Draft House, the Park City Recreation Department Depart-ment and all local sporting goods stores. Race director is Phil Thompson, Jr. and Janet Greensides will serve as his assistant. The awards ceremony will be held at Snow Creek property at 9:30 and the winners of the race will ride in the annual 4th of July parade.
