Show 207 Artists Accepted For '82 Arts Festival Two hundred and seven artists and craftsmen from 23 states have been accepted to the 1982 Park City Art Festival. A seven-person jury selected select-ed the exhibitors from a field of over 600 artists. The jury was comprised of prominent Utah artists and arts administrators. admini-strators. They met for three nights and reviewed five slides of each artists work. The applicants were considered consid-ered solely on the merits of the work pictured in the slides and their names remained anonymous. The exhibitors will come to Park City from as far away as Alaska and Florida to display their work. Twelve categories categor-ies of fine art will be represented in this year's Festival, including wood, fiber, jewelry and painting. This year local artists from Summit and Wasatch Counties Coun-ties will have a consolidated booth in the Timberhaus parking lot. At a special meeting of the Park City Artists Association, 17 local artists were juried into the booth. . In addition, eight local artists who applied for regular booths have been accepted to this year's Festival. They are John Arenskov, Dick Doty, Mary Dougherty, David Fernandez, Fernan-dez, Lynn Green, Jay Mar-kel, Mar-kel, Jill Snyder and Lew Sadlier. The annual event will also feature performing artists on the Festival's two performance perfor-mance stages. Created 13 years ago by Park City artists .and businessmen, busi-nessmen, the Festival lures artists and art observers from across the country. According to sean Toomey, Festival director, "This year we have art work reviewed by the jury, the 1982 Park City Art Festival promises to be a very exciting visual arts festival." |
