Show Glean Up Week Termed 1 ' A Success According to Steve Hol-comb Hol-comb Park City's clean-up week, May 14 through 19, was an overwhelming success suc-cess due to the efforts of the entire community which lent their support to the event. Holcomb is president of the local chapter of the Jaycees which sponsored the city-wide city-wide clean-up. Playing a major role in the spring beautification effort were students from the Mid School and Marsac Element-ry Element-ry school, who worked tirelessly May 17, gathering litter far and wide throughout through-out the City limits Mid School students competed com-peted by grades to collect the most ammount of trash in the north end of town, but when the gigantic piles were measured the contest was called a "draw" and every participating student was given a free ride on the Alpine Slide. The tickets were donated by the Alpine Slide Corp. Hot dogs were later served to the young workers at the park which were donated by Brig LaSeur of Seven-Eleven Stores. The buns were donated by Ernie Scow. On Main Street, Elementry Students worked tail afternoon after-noon with their efforts rewarded at the end of the day by ice cream cones from the Miner's Delight donated by Randy Thompson. That night there was a dance - at the Memorial Building for all the clean up participants with a band donated by a committee of Park City Realtors headed by Bill McComb. On Saturday, Bob Hutch-ins Hutch-ins of Prospector Square donated the theater for a free showing of Grizzly Adams donated by Sun Classic Pictures. The Alamp Saloon apparently helped out by donating garbage bags. Thanks also go out to Paul DeGroot who spearheaded the entire effort and to the Park City Jaycees who sponsored the event. yfl-l"' II II ' . . . ' SV '- '' ', ' v . |
