Show 300 Unit Hotel Planned For Golf Course Site Two of the principals in the Holiday Inn hotel have consumated an 80 year lease agreement with Greater Park City Company for a 7'2 acre site surrounding the ninth hole of the Park City Golf Course, and have tentatively announced plans for a 300 room luxury hotel. Rick Prince said that he and Rob Morris are presnetly the principal partners in the project which is expected to cost in excess of $12 million but added that additional partners may be taken in at a later date. , . The 7Va , acre site which includes - the presnet club house facility, tennis courts and portions of the ninth fairway, was excluded from the recent sale of the golf course ; to:the city " for ? Mr " Prince admitted that, the tennis courts, and club House J would be torn down to make - way for the new hotel but asserted that altercations of the ninth hole would be minimal in order to preserve . the, integrity of .the course. Because maintaining the challenginjgj characteristic of 7 thet:course is" paramount' Id '' the innkeepers Prince said that they might only be building on a 6V2 acre site rather than 7 Vi. "We plan to build a first class hotel which will be almost twice as large as the . Holiday Inn and considerably more luxurious" said Mr. Prince citing Park City's current need for such a facility, "We plan to make it visually very attractive and equip it with the standard ammenities-swimming pool, tennis courts, convention facility etc' ' . he said. Admitting that his group does not have the expertise to manage the" facility, Mr. Prince said the operation of the hotel would be contracted contract-ed to a professional management manage-ment group. Hilton Inc. has apparently expressed considerable consid-erable interest in operating the caravansary as hhas Western Motel Properties : which currently runs the Holiday Inn. Mr. Prince said that he hope to begin construction within twelve months with' a tentative projective completion comple-tion date of September 19Si. - "Our objective is to build a first 'class hotel facility" concluded Mr. Prince, "We won't do anything less.
