In a recent interview with our representative Mr. Ber nard spoke of getting up at the usual hour with the intention of going to work, altho some of the dailies said he had overslept. "Oh, no, sir, I did not sleep in, but I surely had a hunch that something wrong was going to happen. Confronting myself with the fact the mine only worked two days a week, I fixed up my luncli ready to go to work, but impulse was so strong I was over ruled and stayed at home, and was horrified a little later to learn that all my fellow workers work-ers who had gone to work had been blown to eternity." Mr. Bernard assisted in identifying and removing 111 bodios of liis former co-workers. He was at one time a resident of Bingham, having worked with the Utah-CopiK-r and the Highland Boy Mining Co. and is respected here. |
