Show SERIOUSLY HURT IN STREET CAR ACCIDENT Salt Lak Aug. 1 3. Stepping In front of an easlbound O. S. L. dep..t car. No. 420, at the intersection of First West, and Second South streets a man who is believed to be .1. B. Pnrks of St. John, Kan., ws strncl,-by strncl,-by tho car and t-erlouslv Injured Friday Fri-day night. He was carried into a nearby near-by drug store and later removed to the emergency hospital Police Surgeon Sur-geon H. B. Spragne made an examination examina-tion of the man's Injuries nnd ordered his removal to the Groves L. T). S. hospital, where he was Reported a? resting easily this morning. Parks was walking south on First West Ftreet, and the car. in charge of Conductor C. '.' Prosser and Motor-man Motor-man A. B. Drown, was moving eastward east-ward on Second South street. Motor-man Motor-man Drown saw Parks approaching the track, and, after sounding tho gong, applied the brakes Parks stepped close lo the car and then stopped. Just as the car started onward on-ward Pnrks. for Komo. unknown reason, rea-son, stepped in front of it and was thrown to the ground. He received severe bruises about the faco and head and Is believed to bo suffering from Internal Injuries. Those in attendance at tho hoppltAl attempted to get the name of the man, but were unsuccessful, owing to tho patient's condition. |
