Show MEETING AT THE WEBER CLUB OGDEN AUTOMOBILE CLUB AND GOOD ROADS ASSOCIATION. Details for Automobile Carnival Decoration Dec-oration Day Celebration Are Discussed. A well attended Joint meeting of the Weber County Good Roads association and the Ogden .Automobile club was held last night at the Weber club looms, at which it was .decided to consolidate the new organization with the road association. The consolldat-1 1 e.l organization will be known as the "Ogden Automobile Club and Good Roads Association." , A resolution was unanimously adopted adopt-ed which will support the legislation enacted in tho recent legislature, requiring re-quiring all automobiles and vehicles to pass to the right on all roads of tho state. The law in question Invalidates In-validates an ordinance of the county which requires motor cars to pass all chicles on the river side of Ogden canyon, but It is considered wiser by the Auto club to observe the "keep to the right" rule, even In the snakelike snake-like curves of the canyon roads. Tho resolution follows: "Whereas, There Is now a county ordinance requiring automobiles to take the river side In passing vehicles In the canyon, and "Whereas, The last legislature has enacted a law requiring automobiles and vehicles to pass to the right on all. roads, which law invalidates said ordinance and the right of the county or city officials to mako such rules, aud "Whereas, This is sure to caustj confusion and perhaps trouble, be It hereby "Resolved, That the county commissioners com-missioners be and they are hereby requested re-quested to place signs across the road in the canyon instructing all vehicles and motor cars to turn to the right." A special committee for the purpose of drawing up the articles of the new association, consisting of Judge .1. A. Howell. O. J. Stilwell, Phil Kohn and O. W. Culver, was appointed. The Initiation Ini-tiation fee of th new organization was decided upon as 2 and the annual was declared to be $5. The details of the Automobile Carnival Car-nival Decoration Day celebration was next discussed. The parade will bo started it 2 p. m., at a point between Twenty-fifth and Twenty-sixth Twenty-sixth streets on Washington avenue. The cars will be decorated in pennants pen-nants in green with white letters, bearing the initiaTs O. A. C ." the Ogden Automobile club. The auioists will proceed to the fair grounds, where an extensive program of auto races will be carried out. The association announces that any body is eligible for membership in the new organization, and hope to at least enroll every owner of a motor car on their books. |
