Show f STRIKE OF THE MEN OF THE MERCHANT MARINE EXTENDS Paris, May 27. The strike of tho sailors, stokers and stewards of the merchant marine is extending. The men demanded a week day of rest and equalization of pay on passenger and freight boats. The tie up is complete at Marseilles, where fifty vessels are unable to mive, and It is partial at Havre. Dunkirk, St. Nazalro, Toulon and Bordeaux. Torpedo boats are being employed for tho conveyance ot the malls to Algeria and Corsica. The companies concerned have askc.l the government to lend thorn crows from warships to insure the movement of the mails. |
