Show York Herald in relation to city advertising adver-tising of gold refunding bonds was referred re-ferred to the city attorney, on motion of Councilman Peery. An application for 10 .ias leavo of absence and a request that the city council adjourn for two weeks, owing to the rush of work in the recorder's office, was received from Recorder E. P. Brown, and granted, on motion of Councilman Flygare. A claim for $15 due Judge J. E. Bag-ley, Bag-ley, for legal services, was allowed, on motion of Councilman Flygare. A petition from Ralph Guthrie asking ask-ing that his brokerage license be reduced re-duced from $100 to $25, was referred to the license committee and city attorney. at-torney. A communication from Nells Hanson stating- that the alley in King's addition, addi-tion, between Cook and First streets and Adams and Jefferson avenues, had been fenced to his disadvantage, was referred to the street committee. A petition from William Glasmann for betterments on the roads of Glasgow's Glas-gow's addition and stating that It was almost Impossible to deliver the malls In that section owing to the present condition of the roads of thai district, was referred to the street committee, on motion of Councilman Dickson. Councilman Thomas stating that it was also Impossible for the street department de-partment wagons to gH there with gravel to repair the roads.
