Show CHANGES IN BOUNDARY OF UTAH FORESTS Assistant District Forester F. W. Reed returned Monday evening from a trip to Provo, where he went to confer con-fer with the supervisors of the Uintah and A6hlev forests on grazing matters. Mr. Reed states that there Is proposed pro-posed a change in the boundary lines of the two forests mentioned. The two forests . were formerly one but were divided, the eastern part being known as the Ashley forest, and the western, the Uintah forest. The headquarters of the former were established at Vernal, and those of the latter at Provo. The original boundary followed the natural course of Smith Fork up over the Uintah ridge and down tho other side bv Lake fork. This has been found to interfere somewhat with the range allotments of that district and a change Is contemplated which will move the boundary line from the creeks mentioned to the ridges above, throwing a portion of the Ashley forest into what is now the Uintah and vice versa. |
