Show TWO HOLD-UPS OCCUR WITHIN HALF AN HOUR Brace of Robbers Compels Couple of Residents to Give Up Valuables. Salt Lake, Jan. 26 Tribune: In lesB than thirty minutes, Monday night, two men going to their homes in the eastern section of the city were held up by two men at the points of revolvers and forced to deliver over their valuables. The first hold up occurrod at Fifth South and Fifth East streets, at 11:30 o'clock, when Frank Stelffol, living nt 54S East Fourth South, was stopped by two men, who stepped from behind a big tree. They ordered him to throw up his hands, which he did without delay. While one 6tood in front of him and held a revolver close to his eyes, the other went through his pockets. pock-ets. Five dollars in money, an open-face open-face gold watch, with the letters F. S. engraved on the back, and a gold watch fob were taken from him. After taking the valuables, the robbers rob-bers stepped to one side and ordered Mr. Steiffel to walk along the street and not turn back. The second robbery occurred at 214 East Third South street, shortly before be-fore 12 o'clock. Joseph Strakn was turning Into his gate at that number when two men jumped from a dark place and. pointing their revolvers directly di-rectly at him, told him not to shout, but to throw up his hands. The robbers rob-bers turned the same trick as before. All they received for their trouble -was some small chango and a scarf pin. Both robberies were reported to the police soon fftor they occurred, and r.lthough a dot&il of six policemen was rent out, the robbers were not found. |
